Linear webhook

Urgent and high issues created, issues given an assignee, and SLA breaches.

Setup

1. In Linear open Settings, API, Webhooks, New webhook. Use a temporary URL such as https://example.com until PingLoom gives you the real one.
2. Tick Issues, and Issue SLA if your plan has it. Create the webhook, then open its detail page and copy the signing secret.
3. In PingLoom open Webhooks, choose New webhook source, pick Linear, paste the signing secret and create it. Copy the endpoint URL.
4. Edit the Linear webhook and replace the URL with the PingLoom endpoint URL.

Verification

Linear signs the raw body with HMAC-SHA256 and sends the hex digest in Linear-Signature. PingLoom also rejects requests whose webhookTimestamp is more than a minute off, and uses Linear-Delivery to drop repeats.

Events

You choose which events become alerts when you create the source, and you can change it later on the source page.

Assignee names are never copied, only the issue identifier, title and priority.
